1941 Silvertone Radio?
I have a 1941 Silvertone radio from Sears & Roebuck. It's not in terrible shape. I might want to fix it up, but I don't know how hard it might be to find parts and info. I'm looking for a good website references about the radio and it's worth. Could anyone point me in the right direction?
my husband has refurbished many old radios, he found manuals on them as well as parts on Ebay. Some of the tubes he had to buy for the older ones he was able to get through Radio Shack.
I found this site on google, it looks like the people that used to come to Lakewood Antiques market in Atlanta Georgia each year, but I'm not sure. He does list other links though for radios and parts. I looked for the business card the man gave my husband, but I have no idea where that could be now. maybe this will be a useful reference site.http://www.oldradioparts.com/

Modern Marvels: Sears Tower - $19.99 The history of the engineering masterpiece originally designed as the Sears Corporation headquarters is explored in this installment of the History Channel's Modern Marvels series. At the time the Sears Tower was designed, it was one of the most ambitious construction projects ever conceived. Chicago was a city already renowned for its spectacular architecture, so the designers needed to ensure that their building would be easily distinguishable from the remarkable buildings that surrounded it. The result was a building that changed the face of urban architecture. Now viewers can finally find out exactly how the Sears Tower was erected, and how it is successfully maintained decades after it originally changed the face of the Chicago skyline. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi |

Minnie Earl Sears $68.51 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Sears was a native of Lafayette, Indiana, and was awarded a B.Sc. from Purdue University at age 18, the youngest graduate in her class. She received an M.Sc in 1893. In 1900 the University of Illinois awarded to her a Bachelor of Library Science degree. Sears had a long career as a cataloguer and bibliographer at a variety of libraries (Bryn Mawr College, University of Minnesota, New York Public Library), before she joined the publishing company H. W. Wilson Company in 1923 to publish her List of Subject Headings for Small Libraries. The book provides a list of subject headings for small libraries to use in lieu of Library of Congress Subject Headings. Library of Congress headings are often not as useful for small libraries because they are too detailed. Sears List of Subject Headings also offers small libraries guidance on how to create their own new subject headings consistently when necessary. 1963 Sears Silvertone 1481 Tube Guitar Harp Amp
if you could own something cool or innovative from the past, what would it be?
Here's mine..
An RCA CT-100 "Merrill" color television, the first mass-produced for the everyman color TV set. The CT-100 made its debut in 1954, and there are some working sets that have been restored.
An original Ford Mustang!
An old Sears Silvertone portable stereo like I got for Christmas when I was ten years old....
"Jesus Christ Superstar", original London cast recording, on VINYL rather than CD(the original album had a cool cover and a lyric book that came with it!)
A Plymouth 'Superbird' muscle car(like the one that's in the new "Cars" movie)
An RCA TK-41 color television camera, the first color TV camera widely used here in the USA
An original Atari 2600 video game console, the first videogame system I ever owned!
A "Surrey with the Fringe on Top" horse drawn carriage complete with horse! Not particularly practical transportation but a lovely way to travel locally.
A modest stone home with working grist-mill and ice house.
Those would be my major choices, I already have the recording you mentioned.
