Help, trying to make Ice Cream?
My Mum got a recipe from the TV for coconut ice cream, but then she discovered the chef expects you to have an ice cream maker, which we don't.
It says, "...mix all the ingredients together in a bowl, put it all in an ice-cream maker and churn. Then put it all in the freezer to set."
So what can she do? She has an old Philips food mixer which simply uses a large, open plastic bowl on a turntable, which is operated by 1 or 2 electric whisks.
P.S. I'll e-mail a spoonful down to the best answer, LOL!
If the food processor bowl fits in your freezer put it there without the blades/whisks. Give it 20 mins, take out and whizz it for a minute, keep doing it until it's almost done, then just keep in freezer.
In the case the bowl doesn't fit, transfer mixture in a container that does. Then use the 20 minutes in and 1 minute whizzing with a hand blender, if you have one, or just using the food processor again, just don't wash it between whizzing sessions.
