Why does my vocals sound quiet compared to the background music in fl studio 8?
Every time i record vocals in fl studio (using edison) they sound really quiet. you can barely hear them over the background music
Are you plugging into the computer using a dynamic mic with an 1/8" plug(Like a Guitar hero mic)? Get an interface (USB is the cheapest, firewire is a step up) and a mic that uses an XLR cable. This will give you recordings where you control the volume levels. If you are just plugging into the front of the computer, there is no preamp control so you can't boost the signal, you can only lower it (usually). If you don't mind the room noise hiss and fuzzy sounding vocals, then use the normalize option and the words will boost up to a listenable level. Definitely think about a mic if you really want to get serious though, you'll be glad you did.

Digital Recording Devices Or Any Other Recording Devices Have Some Really Good Uses
There are several uses for all the various Dictaphone products out there. When it comes to recording devices, there are certain things you can do with them. But before you go about taking advantage of this you need to make sure that you purchase the right Dictaphone for your needs. They come in a variety of different styles. You will want to do some research and make sure you end up finding the product that is in the right price range and has the best features.
Once you find and purchase the Dictaphone that you want, it is time to put it to use. But one of the things that will help you make a decision as to which to purchase is what you will ultimately do with it. So if you start using it and you realize you chose the wrong model, it is a good idea to return it at this point. The Dictaphone is a good product but only when used correctly.
Digital recording devices or any other recording devices have some really good uses. For example, you can use them to record your classes if you are in high school or college. This is a good study tactic because you may miss certain key points the first time around. Instead of stress about it, you can get more from the lectures and learn new things the more you listen to them. The key behind the Dictaphone is that you can record speaking and then play it back. That is even what the original function was when Edison and created the first recording device.
Other Dictaphone uses include recording different conversations in a doctor or therapy setting and using it to record different notes for yourself or even for writing tasks. Some writers like to speak into the Dictaphone for the first draft of their novels or stories and then transcribe it later. This is because the brain works a lot quicker than the hands can type or write so it makes things easier.
There are several different Dictaphone uses and in order to take advantage of it you need to have the right product. Purchase the Dictaphone you want and then use it properly.
