DJ Set Turntables Scratch

I am looking to start DJing and I just wanted to know what step up I need.?

I know there are turntables and the software mixers. If I got the numark battlepack just start off would I need DJ software with it too? What cables would I need, etc. Would monitor speakers suffice in just starting at home and mixing things in? I guess I just want to know what the best set up if I wanted to start mixing and scratching with using a laptop?

Yo. Yeah but the Numark battlepack isn't up to much.

Get yourself a USB MIDI controller. They're delivered with the software. Say for example Numark DJ total control, or better if you have more budget.

You'll need RCA to go from your controller output to your amp. Do you have an amp? Otherwise, monitor speakers are more for producing music, but they'll do fine for DJing at home too.
