Crosley Record Player Keepsake
the arm on my crosley record player keeps moving across the record towards the center..any way of fixing this?
its a cr249 keepsake usb turntable
Sounds like it's a damaged stylus because most other problems would cause the arm to "stick" instead of slide towards the center. Although, it is possible the tonearm triggers a switch when moved over the record and that is out of adjustment. I've seen that happen, but that would usually only cause the problem towards the beginning of a record.
Unfortunately, Crosley makes total garbage and there are many complaints about their turntables and styli. I'd try to step up to a separate turntable and sound system as soon as you can. A decent separate turntable with built-in phono preamp and a boombox with a line-in jack or computer speakers can be a great place to start on a budget.
