How can I transfer something from a cassette tape to a CD?

I have my dad and his friends on a cassette singing "Sympathy For The Devil". Considering my dad is no longer with us, this is something I want to keep. I'm afraid the cassette will mess up somehow, so it would be nice to have it on a CD or something where I can make a bunch of copies...I know I can make copies on cassettes, but I would still prefer a CD. How do you do this?

Look up an item made by Griffin Technology called iMic. It connects the USB port on your pc/mac to your tape deck from the red & white (line out) jacks. Griffin Tech includes software to edit volume levels and start/stop points. I've used it for MANY cassette & vinyl transfers and the results are very satisfactory. It can be a LITTLE time consuming for full albums or tapes, but if its just one little song like you're talking about, you should have it transferred to mp3 format (and then burned onto a cd) in no time at all!
