Can you buy a good printer cartridge that is cheaper?
Cheaper than the expensive original cartridges? I'm going broke !!
Check out a good compatible or re-manufactured cartridge.
Here is what you want to look for. If the cartridge has drilled holes. It is a crudely done refill, do not buy from that company. If the company does not give at least a 30 day satisfaction guarantee on their cartridges, do not buy.
If a company is unwilling to stand behind their product it is a HUGE red flag.

How to fix a broken N64 Cartridge
Why does my printer keep saying no ink cartridge detected when its there?
Is it because the printer is broke and i gotta get a new one or is there a little trick i need to do to get it running and working again?
lc3 has good suggestions. If those do not work make sure the cartridge you bought was a genuine cartridge. Third party, compatible or refilled cartridges may not be recognized by the printer and could damage the printer.
Make sure your cartridge is genuine.
