Cart Micro
I have a nintendo ds with an r4 that works perfectly, but when i put another one, it stays on loading screen.?
i bought my son a r4 with all games on it for his ds. now i want to make one by myself. i bought the micro sd that comes with the r4 cart and with the adaptor and the usb adaptor as well. i copied all the games from the working card to the new one, everything is the same. when i put the micro sd on the old r4 cart, it works perfectly, wheni put it on the new one, it stays on loading screen. i got two more r4 cart and none of them work. do i need something special? help please????
Hi there Kobe,
The good news is that your card is working completely normally. The bad news is that you don't have the right software! The reason is simple: your son's R4 card and your R4 card are different versions, so they actually take different softwares. You can copy the games sure, but you can't just copy the software needed to run them.
I'm going to recommend 3 websites for you. The first is the page on R4DSRevolution that teaches you to recognise exactly which card you have.
The second and third are the help pages on nds-gear and dscardworld that will basically teach you how to put the software back on the card afterwards.
Once you have the right software on it, your card should work again without any issues.

Importance of 16GB Micro SD Cards
Micro SD is basically a format that is used for removable flash memory cards. These cards are used in various devices like digital cameras, media players, cell phones, audio players, USB flash memory drives. MicroSD cards are so called because of their physical dimensions which is 15 mm × 11 mm × 1 mm; making them the smallest memory cards that are available commercially. This dimension corresponds to about a quarter size of a standard SD card. MicroSD cards have a capacity ranging from 64MB to 16GB. Also, it is known that a 12GB version of the microSD card was created by SanDisk but never released.
Certain specific adapters are available that permit the MicroSD cards to be used in devices that are confined to SD, Memory stick, USB and miniSD cards. The 16GB MicroSD cards are different from SDHC (secure Digital High Capacity) cards. Even thought both of them have a similar form factor, the difference essentially lies in the compatibility offered by other devices to the high capacity cards. Not all devices are presently ready to operate with an SDHC card.
