Slash Resistant Clothing Can Prevent Injuries And Save Lives
Bespoke cut and slash resistant clothing can be manufactured using different technical fibres such as aramid or polyethelene fibre. Recent tests however have concluded that the ultra high cut-resistance Cut-Tex™PRO fabric is probably as good as it gets using today's technology.
Personally I really believe in frontline professionals right to be equipped correctly or let me say 'appropriately'. I also believe that it is only a question of time before our knife or slash resistant clothing will save human lives and certainly prevent potentially horrendous injuries at work. In fact it is my full time job to develop personal protective equipment that is concealable, comfortable and relevant to those who are either opposed to body armour or for those whose risk levels would not justify wearing stab vests
Cut-Tex™PRO, the fabric mentioned just a second ago, is a very clever combination of specialised technical high performance fibres weaved by rare high-density knitting machines. This unique fabric is offering the highest achievable cut resistance level 5 (BS EN 388:2003 6.2) for cut resistant gloves. The Worldwide highly regarded and much more accurate blade cut resistance test BS EN ISO 13997:1999 (carried out by INTERTEK - the World's leading group of testing laboratories) concluded that it took a cutting load of 25.2N to penetrate this great new textile, which is rather astonishing.
Cut-Tex™PRO lined knife, bite and slash proof undergarments have become very popular with social and mental health care workers and other professionals working within special need schools and with individuals with severe learning disabilities.
