Is the 30-06 the best battle cartridge ever?
I was reading a report about wound ballistics studies that were made in WWII by American doctors. The gun that was being studied was the M1 Garand and the damage made by the 30-06 round to enemy infantry personnel. Studies made on the cadavers of German Nazi soldiers who died fighting in urban close quarters combat against our American GI's, revealed that most of them died even before they hit the ground after being shot with a 30-06. And the unfortunate Germans who got hit with it less than 100 yards away, were swept of their feet and into the ground when hit. Is the 30-06 the best battle cartridge ever? Or should we stick to the .223/5.56 x 45 in Iraq?
An interesting question though a bit morbid. I agree that the .223 is better suited for military combat. The 30-06 was overkill we are not talking about killing a 1,000lb bull elk here but humans.

Are Remanufactured Cartridges Winning The Battle?
The open battle is against generic ink makers, whose cheaper ink has become more popular due to a faltering economy. Another reason they’ve been hit hard has been a trend began by businesses and consumers to print less as a way to save money.
To illustrate this battle let’s take HP for example that on Wednesday shared their financial news. Their printer and ink division has been severely wounded, with sales falling 19 percent to $6 billion. That includes a 7 percent decline in supplies, a typically strong area that includes things like ink cartridges, which are among HP’s biggest moneymakers."
Thus showing us the battle is being won due to several factors. One, consumers find the prices for OEM cartridges substantially higher than cheaper generic or remanufactured cartridges. Most definitely for important documents and pictures using an OEM cartridge assures the best quality.
