Bassman Amp Effects

Guitar/Bass pedal to lower bit sample rate? 8-bit sounding..?
I'm trying to reinterpret some of my songs I've made in Ableton Live and Reason for live performance.. One of the effects I frequently deploy in place of traditional distortion is the Redux.. It kind of makes things sound like they're from an Atari or Nes game.
I'd like to use a bass guitar and get a sound like that... What effects could I use to get such a sound? I know the Line 6 bass amps have a synth setting that does that, but I'd prefer to use my bassman.. I have no cash for the amp. Please Help!!!
Yeah I have a macbook pro and I use Garage band to record bass tracks..
What I am trying to do is make an interesting live show for people, I don't want it to be me and my laptop alone on a stage.
That effect is exactly what I want.. But in a stompbox! Are there any manufacturers that make a rackmount module or a pedal to achieve this???
I don't want to use my laptop for anything other than running basic rythym(hi hat) and a click track out to 2 percussionists.
If you're using a Mac, you could use Garageband and use the "Bitcrusher" effect to get those cool tones.
Unfortunately, I don't know of the stompbox version...maybe there might be a setting on a multi-fx pedal...I just really like that effect in Garageband and it came to mind. Sorry that's all I could come up with.

Fender '59 Bassman Ltd $1399.99 Fender '59 Bassman Ltd Our reissue of the classic 45 Watt '59 Bassman has found fantastic acclaim, with features including lacquered tweed covering, solid pine cabinet, four 10" Jensen® speakers, premium tubes, and normal and bright channels with two inputs each. The Bassman amp's wide stage coverage, touch sensitive dynamics, and full-frequency "swirl" make it the perfect vehicle for building a great tone with almost any guitar or effect pedal plugged into it. Fitted cover included. The '50s Fender Bassman was the pro bassist's answer to amplifying a great new invention: the Fender Precision Bass® guitar. This powerful 50-watt rig could easily compete with the common instrumentation of the day: horns, piano, four-piece drum kit with calfskin heads, and maybe even an electric guitar through a nice, new 10-watt amp! By the '60s and '70s, the original all-tube "Tweed" 4x10 Bassman was popular with rock, country and blues guitarists as a reliably great-sounding and easy-to-use guitar amp. Even some emerging British amp designers of the day copied its circuitry for use in their most celebrated designs. In the 1990s, Fender released an affordable reissue of the now-collectible '59 Bassman amplifier to massive acclaim. Many guitarists, tired of experimenting with preamps, equalizers, and effects racks, rediscovered the simple pleasure of plugging into a Fender tube amp. The Bassman's wide stage coverage, touch-sensitive dynamics and full-frequency "swirl" make it the perfect vehicle for building a great tone with almost any guitar or effect. The reissue Bassman continues to be a staple of the Fender guitar amp line to this day. The new '59 Bassman Ltd is enhanced with: Genuine lacquered Tweed covering. Finger-joined pine cabinet for woody, resonant tone. Original spec 5AR4 rectifier tube for natural compression when playing hard. Internal bias pot makes it easier to experiment with various output tubes. Two GT-6L6 Groove Tube™ output tubes. Three improved 12AX7 preamp tubes. Fitted cover. 1972 Fender Bassman amp w/ a 1986 Fender Stratocaster '62 stylings
William Clarke's rig?
Hello. Does anyone know what the late WIlliam Clarke preferred to play through? I mean microphone/amp effects wise.
I'm shooting for his tone and am not quite cutting it playing through a Victoria 518 with a Brown Biscuit Astatic plugged through a Little Lanilei Reverb Pedal.
I love my setup, but the tone does not match as well as I would like it to. It sounds like maybe he is playing through a bassman .
Go on eBay. Look him up in the music category. Look for anything where the seller is "ginas_zone". Gina is William Clarke's daughter. Email her and ask if she can help you. Good luck.
