How can I send an Auto Direct Message on Twitter?
Many times on Twitter I will follow someone who sounds interesting. Sometimes I will get a Direct Message right after I click the follow button. I was wondering If there was any way to setup an "ADM" (Auto Direct Message) to be sent out to any one that follows me?
There are many ways to do this.
However...
WARNING:
Many people will unfollow people immediately upon receiving an auto DM from them.
Why?
Because, by and large people use auto DM's to spam their new follower with whatever they want THEM to do. Mostly likely including something kin to visiting a specific website.
In the "real" world, the minute I make a new friend I don't expect them to attempt to do a sales job on me unless I happen to be at a business meeting of some sort. Nothing would drive me faster away from being friends than that. It's no different online though for some reason people seem to think it to be so.
You can affectively use auto DM's if you give something of quality rather than expecting your new follower to "DO" something.
With that said, I personally use Tweet Later for auto DM's from @BodyByChocolate and highly recommend the professional version of that tool.
