It can only run Macintosh applications that are either PPC-only or Universal binary applications under Mac OS X.

All are good systems; it's really just a matter of what version of Mac OS X you're intending to run, what legacy applications you have that only run on PowerPC machines, and whether any new applications you need require technologies in the new versions Mac OS X, which are best suited for Intel-based Macs.
